From the minute you walk through the front door at Frankie’s you know you’re in for something special. The brightly colored walls are filled with mementos of Philly, testimonials from satisfied customers and photos galore. Wonderful aromas fill the air. A friendly staff member – maybe Frankie himself – will greet you with 'Welcome to Frankies' and treat you as one of Frankie’s Friends.

Frankie Santos moved to Tucson directly from the City of Brotherly Love after retiring from the Delaware Pilot’s Association where he was a valued employee for over 31 years. He grew up on the corner of 3rd Avenue and Porter Street in one of Philly’s famous row houses (his sister still lives in that same house.) His first 50 years were spent in Philadelphia eating and enjoying all of the Philly food. All food served here at Frankies is food Frankie was eating all of his life, with the recipes coming from the shops in Philadelphia. He has many friends that own restaurants in Philly. His first cheesesteak shop was Daglio’s, which was located just down the street. In 2003, he and his wife Deb opened Frankie’s.

Deb hails from Minnesota and is an avid Vikings fan – don’t ever think of bothering her when they’re playing. Her family, two daughters and miniature doxie, her cats and, of course, Frankie. She brings her warm personality to the mix and is a wonderful cook. Her chili has won several local competitions. Deb also handles all of Frankie's outside events.

Frankie and Deb met when The Pilot’s Association was having a company dinner and Deb was at a dental convention at the Penn’s Landing Hyatt. His ordering of a white wine spritzer caught her curiosity. It’s been true love ever since. When she’s not at the shop, she’s checking out Pinterest for new craft project.

Frankie’s has a long list of loyal Frankie's Friends who come back not just for the food but for the warm, welcoming atmosphere they’ve created. They've hoped to have created the perfect environment to enjoy yourself and we hope you’ll come back soon.
